Preventing Police and Fire Layoffs
Jeff Berding has taken a pledge to protect the police officers and firefighters in our community from layoffs, to keep them in our neighborhoods, protecting you.
Budget deficits and cuts to other government services have sparked discussions of layoffs to City employees. This is an absolute last resort for the City, and requires leaders on Council to evaluate the basic services that the City offers and establish their budget priorities.
There is no more basic service for a government to offer its citizens than keeping the community safe. Our firefighters and police officers risk their lives everyday to protect us, and Jeff has worked with his colleagues on Council so every public safety officer in Cincinnati stays on the street.
